Manfred Hackl honored as Plastics Recycling Ambassador

Manfred Hackl, CEO of the Erema Group GmbH, was honored as “Plastics Recycling Ambassador of the Year” at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe in Amsterdam on May 11. This award category recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to plastic recycling.

Manfred Hackl has been with Erema since 1995 and, before joining the management, was responsible for the product development and market launch of the Vacurema technology, which enabled the economically and technologically viable closing of the loop in the bottle-to-bottle segment. Not only in his current role as CEO of the Erema Group but also in various positions in renowned national and international associations, he has been advancing the topic of plastic recycling and circular economy regionally and across Europe, especially within the EU, and fostering collaboration among all industry stakeholders.

“I dedicate the award as ‘Recycling Ambassador of the Year’ to the employees of the Erema Group. This year we are celebrating our 40th company anniversary, and this award, like all others we have received in recent years for our technologies, is proof that we can be very proud of what we have achieved together during this time,” Manfred Hackl expressed his joy over this award.

In the past fiscal year 2022/23 alone, the extruders delivered by the companies of the Erema Group enabled an additional recycling capacity of 1.6 million tons of regranulate.
